Two Phil Spector Mugshots Surface, Nightmares Imminent

Yesterday two chilling prison photos of a haggard-looking Phil Spector surfaced on The Smoking GunIt appears that the former music producer wasn't allowed to take his collection of bizarre wigs to prison, but maybe this means he'll be portraying Gollum in the jailhouse stage production of Lord of the Rings

The October 2013 photograph of Spector, 74, was taken when he was moved to the California Health Care Facility in Stockton, said California Department of Corrections spokeswoman Terry Thornton in an interview with CBS News. An earlier photograph, depicting a more life-like and grinning Spector, is from July 24, 2013.

In 2009, Spector was found guilty of second-degree murder for slaying actress Lana Clarkson at his Alhambra, California, home in 2003. He is serving 19 years to life for the crime. His defense claimed that Clarkson, 40, committed suicide at Spector’s palatial home because of her waning acting career.

Countless women have testified against the producer for decades of vitriolic behavior, abuse and a fixation with guns, particularly his former wife Ronnie Spector, of famed ‘60s girl group The Ronettes.

Spector is famously attributed with producing pop hits, notably The Ronettes’“Be My Baby" and The Beatles'Let It Be, and for developing the “Wall of Sound” production technique, which featured the revolutionary interplay between reverbed rock and roll and string sections.
