The sister of suspected Boston Marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Ailina Tsarnaeva, is in custody after she allegedly made bomb threats over the phone to her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend. Tsarnaeva, 24, turned herself in to New York City officials on Wednesday night, according to police.

Tsarnaeva’s boyfriend, George Briones, is currently battling for custody of three children he had with his ex-girlfriend. Police spokesman Lieutenant John Grimpel told the Los Angeles Times that Tsarnaeva called the woman on Monday, saying: “Leave us alone. I know people who can put a bomb on you.”

After the woman reported her to police, Tsarnaeva turned herself in at Harlem’s 30th Precinct station house. She was arrested for making a phone threat and on suspicion of aggravated harassment, which is a misdemeanor.

The New York Postreports that Tsarnaeva was previously involved in a 2011 counterfeiting case. After being charged with obstruction, she skipped bail and her case was later dismissed.
